We recommend puppies to be at least 16 weeks old. This ensures they are old enough to have a full series of vaccinations. Young puppies will have the benefit of a great socialization experience and some intro to birds. Participation in the other elements of the seminar will depend on the individual dog. Most puppies under 6 months are not mature enough to do all of the obedience exercises we will be going over.
-
No. It takes time to teach dogs new things and to reshape behavior. Each level of the seminars represents weeks of working with the animal so they can be comfortable with and fully understand each training element. The seminars are designed to teach the people, who in turn can teach the dogs at the pace that works for the individual dog.
-
The seminars move sequentially through a complete training system. Start with the Foundation, then go to the Intermediate, and finish up with an Advanced.

These things happen and we will do our best to work with you to ensure you and your dog are able to participate. Please do let us know ahead of time. Also, plan on keeping your female away from the other dogs and in a crate when not actively being worked.

Absolutely, and the Foundation Seminar is a great place to start. Our goal during the seminars is to help you work with your dog and address that individual dog’s needs. We don’t expect the dogs to act perfectly as they will be in a new environment and there will be a lot of activity. (We do ask that you do not bring dogs that are known to be aggressive.)
